To the Frontline mission we played yesterday.
In the last engagement DAM and part of noobs were OPFOR attackers, while me, Shadow and most of noobs were defending position.
When OPFOR started suppressive fire (it was quite massive) I really felt myself suppressed. Bullets were constantly hitting walls around. As I noted earlier, noobs cant be suppressed - they prefer to die. So many our defenders died because they didnt wish to hide and tried to return fire.
I hid inside trench and seldomly popped up to spot DAM assault team, but never spotted them (DAM was clever to use pincer movement by two small assault groups from the flanks) before one green helmet appeared 10 m from me.
That was a mistake by DAM - to show up before effectively grenading defenders. By sheer luck that DAM soldier got away alive as my shots went a bit over his helmet.
But then the grenades started falling around, they killed me in the trench and several others. Soon after DAM captured our position.
It was good job
Lessons:
1. Part of base of fire might be an RPG team - their shots are effective and can easily simulate artillery strike.
2.Assault team must not run across danger area untill base of fire says they suppressed the enemy, because if enemy is still returning fire assault team would be in danger
3. Suppressive fire must be shifted when assault team approaches trenches to avoid friendly fire
4. Assault team must not show themselves at once at position, first they must spend all their grenades
We also played (tried to play) Cassinga COOP. The preferrable tactics is described here damteam.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=map&thread=335&page=1#1053
