Hello fellow brothers in arms.
Last night in chat we were talking about the possibility of an animated banner, or a gif or slideshow for the forum. Although I'm not sure if you guys (admins) have formally decided to go ahead with it, I am on board as a designer in the event that you need me.
I thought I would create this post to get some feedback from key members as to what imagery they had in mind. these are my ideas. I think it is advisable that we keep to a maximum of 5 images, ideally 3 perhaps but that's just my opinion. Here are my ideas for the banner.
img 1: Our logo ofcourse, we have to show any would be newcomers who we are and what we stand for. It's not only branding but affirmation of who we are and to remind us that we too are D.A.M and proud to be D.A.M
img 2: I thought perhaps some kind of in game photograph of our entire group. Maybe we could arrange a date for a photo oppurtunity an we could all meet online, stand in front of a Mi24 or something like that and print scrn or screen capture our team. This could be accompanied by a tag line that reads International fighting force or something to that degree. I think it's the ideal oppurtunity to advertise our diversity. I can think of 9 countries off the top of my head that we as a team represent.
img 3: Perhaps some action shots of our in game experience, maybe inside a chopper, or perhaps an enemy in a scope, etc. Maybe a parade?
These are just some ideas and i'd like you all to provide some of your own too and how you envision this piece if we get the go ahead to do it provided there are no technical issues.
here's some photos which could use for a starting point as inspiration. Please add your own examples and see if we can do something similair in game.
