All my life just cant wait to critisize everyone and everything - so this is my version of debriefing )))
TASK - "This morning the 10/21st royal marine company was given the task to assault the villa in Zargabad. There is a high ranking official that needs to be taken in to custody dead or alive."
1. Taking villa with hostages requires some specop type of mission (night/fast etc) and force composition (like attaching sniper teams/demolition/helis). 2. Putting those hostages aside, looking at this just as of an ordinary infantry platoon attack on some enemy position there were following mistakes we did:
- we had BMP (BMD) and so we must have centered our efforts around it - moving aside of the town, placing BMP at some distance from target as base of fire, working cohesively with it (actually BMP was our chief asset and force multiplier)
- when we were ambushed for the first time on the street everyone just rushed away from bmp looking for enemies, while we should have spread around our armor to protect it against rpgs and calling its gun to deal with spotted contacts (as all manuals for urban combat of mechanized infantry dictate)
- After short fight we went under fire from villa and all platoon was ordered to hide inside one compound. It was a call for a disaster... In pvp we would be suppressed very soon inside (by enemy firing at doors) and grenaded to death either by hand or rifle grenades. I know two episodes from real life when such things happened - in Afghan documentary "our war" when british platoon lost its commander at the door of the compound, and in Falklands war when argentinian squad hiding in lone house was decimated by british patrol with british officer commenting - "never in a house". It was maybe better to fall back and change direction of attack.
- To reach villa the remaining ppl were split in small (2 men) assault team and the rest who should have to "draw fire on themselves while assault group moves ahead". This was kind of wrong in idea. The task can be "to suppress the enemy", not "draw fire on you". If enemy cant be suppressed (or killed as in case of unsuppressible arma AI) than there should be no attempt to risk assault team's lives.
- Field manuals dictate that in such kind of operations attackers split in two element - Support (base of fire which task is to violently suppress enemy) and Assault which is to breach inside and deal with remaining enemies. Important is that both teams should be able to help each other by fire (othervise there is no cohesive force, no platoon - just two groups uncapable of reacting to unexpected changes in situation). In our situation we had no Support element because the guys in the compound had no good position observing target, we were not ready on position because only one or two guys could fire from the corner of our compound, others just stayed inside. From my experience (and i would dare to say it will work in many cases in reality better then field manuals scheme) during initial engagement its better not to split platoon at all - all platoon should form a line (even if for this you have to be in the open field - our best defence would be massive fire and good observation capabilities of 20 men) and simultaniously fire on known and popping up targets. Only when all spotted and appearing enemies are killed (case of AI) or retreated and hide (case of suppressed human players) - assault team might go straight or flanking to finish them. - our assault team in fact reached the villa, but one of the guys was killed by enemy. And another was killed by me, which was a classical example of friendly fire in uncoordinated assault - i.e. base of fire (me and my mg) did not know of assault team approaching gate and didn't shift fire therefore to another flank. This is a classical thing for manuals - the moment of shifting fire should be prearranged and signalled well to avoid friendly fire. I remember we had similar flaws in breaching Iran-Iraq war mission when supporting mgs killed guys rushing through the wire breach.
- So, after these deaths we had like 8 ppl left and continued slow hit&run bites each time loosing more and more men. I would say every such no respawn mission (alas we had bug for respawn this time but anyway) should have a maximum casualty rate to abort the mission and declare defeat - easy by making trigger like "if bluefor side has less than 5 men left then hint YOU ARE DEFEATED". Because otherwise its not realistic to push forward with a team of 3 heroes who in real life would be scared to death and uncapable of any offensive action

Disorganized under fire, chaos and bad plan.
Recon. Main force in rear waiting for intel where enemy is. BMP in safe distance for long range support. And so on.
Did you captured video? I want analyze that moment when you "friendly" killed one of our own during "crazy and stupid" assault on Villa from south.
I told you in that compound "This is a mistake", 2min later = at least 3 casulties. Just beacause tactical mistake.
It wasnt fun for me at the end.

As Murphy's Laws of Combat say: "Never draw fire. It just irritates everyone around you"

I was not filming this, I actually stopped filming when i respawned instantly after bmp was hit, because i was kind of disappointed to spawn, realism was lost
To describe in short - i was shooting mg at enemy DSHK position above the villa gate and area at gate which was partly obscured by tree branches. I killed DSHK gunner and spotted some movement right in the gate behind the leaves and contimued to fire for about next 10 sec untill there appeared the line - "Sasha killed Name (friendly fire)". Really i didn't expect our assault team there inside the gate at our front, for their last words were that they will sweep right flank by the treeline to get to the wall.
In reality I would not receive this pretty text message and I could than easily kill whole assault squad and more - I had many mg mags at hand and could friendly fire whole platoon out if needed )))
MG is a good weapon - i like it Just can't stop once you press the trigger!

Mistake was from commanders, so many mistakes, for my squad, leader moved team to right flank without check and scouting area before move, then we got a easy ambushed from our left side. Leader down and fireteam leader keep try to continue this tactics with more flanking to right again, but again without scouting area, so after some few steps, we got enemy firing from our front this time, fireteam down and we just pullback, next leader just hold at position in compound and enemys just flanked us again and here was we just lost many guys include me BMP was in bad position, need have more distance from villa and stay in road , those guys just moved BMP to close enemys and behind wall !!! so not any covering from BMP. as I said before this mission failed becas commanders and bad plan. PS: why this ppl talking to much in team speak more then playing?! if they want to have some kind debriefing , try it like us. I think they debriefing in team speak after end rounds. Alos I can't see any profit about using SMK mod, just make thing difficult, for a easy movement I have to look my keyboard to find key and also under fire and pressure , hard to have a reaction.SMK killing our reaction time.
