Hey Renz here, but you've all probably forgotten me by now.
Arma 3 FULL has been released today!
I'm wondering if anyone else has bought it, and if they want to play later on. I bought beta 12 hours before launch. Happy gaming...

units realistic not futuristic
Animations:
1. running - it was never "rushing", only running "under load" with good motion. And transition between running/walking/stopping/goingprone was smooth, much better then in Arma 2 where it is very twitchy
2. gettinghit/falling animations vere more smooth and better in some way
3. overall Arma 1 graphics allowed more massive battles, which is a core of Arma. The harder graphics Arma 3 has the more it will diminish to squad vs squad battles not much different from CS in numbers. Battle simulator means you can simulate large battle with no need for best graphics - you need realistic behavior rather. So Arma 1 would make large battles possible now on everyones' comp

To avoid that you talk about the same thing/game, but without recognizing that you are talking about the same thing/game : History of OFP and ArmA - WikiOFP --> Updated and fixed --> ArmA I --> New game: ArmA II --> In 2011: Re-release of OFP (Version "1.99") as ARMA: Cold War Assault...

No, no, we are talking of different games. OFP was predesessor of Arma1 - and Cold War Assault is same old OFP.
OFP has outdated graphics and becomes unplayable due to this...
Arma 1 has uptodate graphics still
Arma 2 has even better graphics but not big step from Arma 1 (especially in terrain) but its too heavy on cpu
I really wish to test Arma 3 and wait untill they make Demo version. But i suspect futuristic environment might appear dull. Because noone saw any movies on arma3like environment and there is no real war footage, no real visuals for arma3 scenarios, and without it there might be no devotion...
My forecast - no later then 2015 Bohemia will issue new Arma 3 with some modern conflict in it (something like they did with adding OA to Arma2), it will surely involve western side because most sales Bohemia does in Europe, and as for enemies...China backed African failed state? Battle for resourses of Africa...

I'm still reaping the benefits of Arma2 for now... Don't have the time man... Still, who has ArmA 1? Perhaps I can try get hold of it and we can host a retro night.
