While playing Arma 3 i noticed that all firefights at midrange are very "far sighted". Enemy units appear to be almost invisible in the distance, very tiny silhouettes. Not fun to spend most of the battles shooting small grey dots on the screen. See the difference with what you see in Arma 3 and Arma 2 at 200m with zoom (very high graphic settings used): www.mediafire.com/view/3v33fpfiuhs2qgl/Arma3_200m.jpgwww.mediafire.com/view/gimx1a7jihi347j/Arma2_200m.jpgArma 2 gives a lot better picture and shooting is fun - you see your enemy. While Arma 3 degrades enemy to a blurry dot The greatest problem is that most fights (apart from inside-town counter-strike style KingoftheHill missions) tend to occure at about 200m, and so Arma 3 steals all the fun from us. I tried to fix this problem by narrowing field of view, but effect is little and side view sucks. Do you have same feeling about Arma 3 zoom? Do you know anything that can solve this problem?

Are you aware of the Feedback tracker? feedback.arma3.com/plugin.php?page=Vote/list_bugsFrom here you can send your issues directly to BIS HQ. Though you must first make an account. Your pictures btw make a convincing case, so I'd go ahead and report it I've posted a few issues myself, and even had some acknowledged by BIS team Ill vote for your issue if you do!

Yes, thank you Renz I would be glad if you report it to BIS This is upgraded "complaint" with better images: While playing Arma 3 i noticed that all firefights at midrange are very "far sighted". Enemy units appear to be almost invisible in the distance, very tiny silhouettes. Not fun to spend most of the battles shooting small grey dots on the screen. See the difference with what you see in Arma 3 and Arma 2 at 200m with zoom (very high graphic settings used): www.mediafire.com/view/16zjberx2b06ny9/Arma2_200m_zoom_Takistan.jpgwww.mediafire.com/view/14bxa4ppx2d25kk/Arma3_200m_zoom_Takistan.jpgwww.mediafire.com/view/l08sre38w7tspf4/Arma3_200m_zoom_Stratis.jpgArma 3 stops zooming much further from holo sight (large part of it visible at pictures) Arma 3 zoomed view still has larger general field of view (you can notice it by additional visible objects like road etc) and consequently smaller targets. Default FOVs are almost equal: www.mediafire.com/view/tob4cp52m4vukmx/Arma2_FOV.jpgwww.mediafire.com/view/h6bxjjmmkp65fc7/Arma3_FOV.jpgArma 2 gives a lot better picture and shooting is fun - you see your enemy. While Arma 3 degrades enemy to a blurry dot The greatest problem is that most fights (apart from inside-town counter-strike style KingoftheHill missions) tend to occure at about 200m, and so Arma 3 steals all the fun from us. We can decrease Arma3 default 70 degree FOV to 55 to get the needed zoom - but than we loose much of side view. If Arma 3 increases zoom (right mouse click) featuree than we will notice that weapon sway is larger than in Arma 2. For me its ok but I feel that many players would want sway reduced again. I know that Stalker game solved this - they have stable gun and crosshair - but bullet dispersion is large so you need some 5-7 shots to hit target that you hold directly at crosshair. Bisides - longer firefights - longer fun (as long as AI has degraded aimbot capabilities for balance).

Graphic problem I guess. Try tweaking settings. A3 is very demanding for hardware. AMD CPUs are no-go (multi-core use is bad on A3, Intel has better one core performance), high freq. RAM also gets +5 - +15 FPS gain. A3 FPS depends on a lot more than good GPU, especially in MP.

Both of them compared, the A3 version might be even more realistic, since Holo sights have no magnification or at least the difference is close to almost not recognisable if you are not "focused" on it... And you know that there A LOT of other scopes to ensure you get a "close-up" of your opponent, that's why I love the RCO, useful in CQC as well as up to 600m. For me it feels a bit like you are searching for reasons to downgrade the opinion on A3, Sasha...

Yes, as you all know i am an oldschool guy (ironsights+ak47+FNFAL are my alltime favourites) - but i need to see something when i shoot, not just that tiny dot. I dont care if i miss - but i need to see the target...
Yes, i agree that in reality holo sights/iron sights give no magnification - but Arma3 is a game and should have some balance between realism and fun. Besides, i would say that I can clearly see ppl 200m away, so my perception is that Arma 2 zoom is more real than Arma3
Arma 3 is a game of thermal scopes - but plz give some habitat to oldtimers
btw i would be glad if zoom could be fixed in configs voluntary. Why not, bullet dispersion stays the same - you see bigger target but crosshair sway is larger and bullet dispersion is stll 200m. You miss, no problem, but that moment you see how fear suddenly overcomes that ai guy as he jumps to cover - isn't it fun?
